The Staffort Book returned home in 2021 after 422 years - and was reissued.
The town of Stutensee was recently able to purchase an original of the theological book written in 1599 by Margrave Ernst Friedrich of Baden and printed in Staffort Castle. Since then it has been easily accessible in the Staffort district.
The Staffort Confession was published in 2021 and is the core of the Staffort Book, with which the Baden Margrave wanted to build a bridge of faith between Lutheran Württemberg, his Baden-Durlach and the Reformed Electoral Palatinate.
The text of his intra-Protestant confession, which Holger Müller adapted to today‘s German, was translated into English by Isolde Vogel and edited by Elaine Griffiths, so that it can now be easily read and understood worldwide.
Rounding off the volume are contributions by Prof. Dr. Johannes Ehmann (Heidelberg) on the historical and theological significance of the work and by Prof. Manfred G. Raupp (Staffort) on the former Staffort moated castle - richly illustrated - as well as forewords by Bishop Prof. Dr Heike Springhart, mayor Petra Becker, mayor Ludwig-Wilhelm Heidt? and by the editor and publisher.
